CHO-LA PASS WITH EBC TREK

Gokyo Cho La Pass Everest Base Camp Trek is the adventurous trek into the Everest/ Khumbu region which combines the Everest base camp with the Gokyo valley and the high chola pass at the elevation of 5420m. This trekking trail offers the stunning views of many Himalayan giants like Mt. Everest (8848m.), Lhotse, Makalu, Amadablam, Kanchenjunga, Nuptse, Mt. Pumori and many more. The natural beauty, rich and unique culture of the Sherpa inhabitants, lush forest, walking over the snow, crossing high pass provides the heavenly pleasure to the visitors which will be the lifetime memory. Gokyo valley is the remote Himalayan Valley which offers the view of the mountains, Glaciers, Gokyo Lake etc. The major highlights of this trek are the mountain vistas, Sacred Lakes of Gokyo valley, beautiful River valleys, glaciers, crossing Chola pass etc.

EBC Chola pass - Gokyo Trekking trip commences with a scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. From Lukla you start our trekking following the Dudh Koshi River valley. You pass through the lush forest of rhododendron and pine, Dudh Koshi valley, Sagarmatha national park, high passes, waterfalls, beautiful Sherpa villages like Phakding, Namche bazaar, Tengboche, Lobuche, Pheriche etc. Sagarmatha national park is the UNESCO listed heritage site where you can find various flora and faun. The warm greeting and the friendly behavior of the Sherpa people add further pleasure the visitors. In this trek you also hike to Kala Pattar which is the perfect view point to observe the panorama of Mt. Everest as well as Ama Dablam (6856m.), Kantega (6809m.), Kwangde (6194m.), Mt. Nuptse (7879m.), Mt. Lhotse (8511m.).

Day 01: Kathmandu (1337m).
• Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel
• Evening program briefing.
• Overnight at hotel

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing.
• After Breakfast, Kathmandu valleysightseeing with city tour guide.
• Rest of the day prepare for trekking.
• Overnight stay at hotel.Kathmandu city guided tour and rest of the day is for preparation.
• Over night stay at hotel.
 
Day 03: Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m) to Phakding (2610m)- 4 hours.
• Transfer to the domestic airport fly about 35 minutes to Lukla.
• After lunch at Lukla start to trek.
• Overnight stay at trekkers lodge. 
 
Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m) – 6 hours
• Trek to Namche Bazar.
• Overnight stay at trekkers lodge. 
 
Day 05: Namche Bazaar 
• Full rest day for acclimatizationn Namxhe Bazar.
• Explore the real Sherpa and their culture.
• Overnight at trekkers lodge. 
 
Day 06: Namche Bazar to Phortse thanga (3680m) - 6 hours
•First part of the trail slightly goes uphill to Namche Bazaar.
•Turn to Phortse Thanga via  Dudhkoshi Valley.
•The trail is zigzag and alone the trail some time you will see mountain goats, Himalayan Thar and other birds of Khumbu Himalaya.
•Dinner and overnight at trekkers lodge.
 
Day 7: Phortse Thange to Machherma ( 4470m) - 7 hours 
After breakfast, begin the trek with a steady climb up to the scenic ridge.
The panoramic views of Kangtega and Thamserku entice us and we reach to Luza.
Then we climb up to the hillside above the river to the settlement at Machherm, near the juncture of the glacial streams.
The Himalayan rescue hospital has been established here with the facility of the basic treatment.
Dinner and overnight stay at trekkers lodge.

Day 08: Machhermo to Gokyo (4790m). 5-6 hrs
the trek  begin with a gentle climb through a ridge Chorten.
The views of the pleasing mountains and down valley both are impressive.
Following the trail, we reach to the river bed and climb steadily through the moraine of the Ngozumba glacier.
Dinner and overnight stay at trekkers lodge. 
 

Day 9: Gokyo Lake to Dragnag (4700m) - 3 hours
• From Gokyo the trail descends, looking at the views of the fine mountains and natural beauty, towards Dragnag.
• Dragnag is consider as the base of Cho -La Pass.
• It takes around four hours to reach Thangna Kharka from Gokyo lake.
• Dinner and overnight  stay at trekkrs lodge.

 

Day 10: Dragnag  - Chola Pass- Dzongla Trek. (4830m)- 7 hours
• Trekking of this day climbs up to Chola Pass and descends to Dzongla.
• The ascending trail leads to Chola Pass (5545m.) from where the views of Lofty mountains including Mt. Everest,            Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Cho Oyo, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse (7879m.), Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cholaste, Mt. Tawache, Mt. Gyachung    Kang and many other  are very impressive.
• You can explore the surrounding area of Dzongla in the evening.
• Dinner and overnight stay at trekkers lodge.

 

Day 11: Dzongla- Lobuche –Gorakshep Trek. (5140m.) - 6 hours
• On this day, we begin climbing from Dzongla and continue to Khumbu Glacier.
• The astonishing views of Tawache and Cholaste.
• You can feel the high altitude because of extreme cold in Lobuche Village.
• The trekking leads above 5000m to Gorakshep.
• Explore the surrounding in the afternoon.
• In the evening hike Kalapatthar peak for sunset view.
• Dinner and overnight stay at trekkers lodge.
 

Day 12: Gorakshep to EBC (Everest Base Camp) and Gorakshep (5140m)
• After breakfast, trek to Everest Base camp at the hight of 5363 about 6 hours.
• Close view of Pumori( 7165m), Lingtren ( 6713m) , Khumbutse ( 6639m), Mt. Everest (8848m) and more ranges.
• Evening free and rest
• Dinner and overniht at terkkers lodge.

 

Day 13: Gorakshep to Pangboche ( 3930m)- 7 hours
• After breafast,continue trekking to a small settlement of Pheriche for lunch about 4 hours at the altitude of (4210m.
• Coonntinue trek to Pangboche.
• Rest, dinner and overnight stay at trekkers lodge.
 
Day 14: Pangboche to Namchebazar ( 3440m) - 6 hours
• Retrieving journey to Namche Bazaar is pleasantly through valleys and pasturelands. 
• We pass through Tengboche and the Tangboche Monastry  continue through enjoying the picturesque view of Monjo valley. 
• The distance of mountains make you feel watching for all the time. 
• Reach Namche bazaar and stay overnight in trekkers lodge.  
 
Day 15: Namche bazaar to Lukla (2840m) - 7 hours
• Trek about 7 hours to Lukla.
• Overnight stay at trekkers lodges. 
 
Day 16: Lukla to Kathmandu.
• Take an early morning flight back (35 Min) to Kathmandu.
• Arrival picks up and transfers to hotel.
• Overnight stay at hotel. 
 
Day 17:Departure
• After breakfast, transfer to international airport for final departure
